Re-Envisioning Academic Coaching

Learning Foundations was founded in 2008 by Jennifer Price with the goal of re-envisioning academic coaching. Jennifer’s approach involves combining the skills of an educator and the guidance of a coach to personalize education and instill a love of learning in students. We are more than tutors. Our academic coaches teach kids how to learn, advocate for themselves and be accountable in the classroom.

We believe all kids perform better when they understand how their brain is naturally wired to learn through their senses: eyes, ears, hands and heart. Since its inception, Learning Foundations has worked with thousands of students, teaching them the power of their learning style in order to thrive in an academic setting.

Students receive individualized one-to-one coaching, incorporating over 45 essential study skills. Through this process, students learn how to sort, classify and organize information. This approach deepens classroom connections and reinforces student whole-brain learning.

A Holistic Approach to Academic Coaching

At Learning Foundations, we take a holistic approach to academic coaching that goes well beyond what is typically provided in a tutoring environment. As part of this process, we:

• Teach students how to use their senses to lock information into long term memory, making deeper connections that facilitate the learning process
• Use homework to teach study skills that are catered to your child’s learning style
• Create simple, visual systems to help students with important tasks such as organization and time management.
• Show students how to be accountable for their work at home and in school
• Coach students on how to advocate for the accommodations provided in their 504/IEP
• Set, monitor and measure student goals to track progress over time
• Collaborate with education teams and therapists to ensure your children receive all the important services they need to succeed

The focus of every session is to teach techniques that empower personal achievement and academic success.
