Questioning Your Motivation?
What Motivates You?
This question will continually crop up throughout your life and will begin to define you and your successes. Motivation is at the root of it all. More specifically, intrinsic motivators (personal or internal things that motivate you) have been shown to hold lasting results, whereas external motivators (things outside of you or your control) can sometimes help you get the job quickly!
Self-Discipline Matters
This summer as we look at ways keep in “shape during the off-season,” the concepts of self-discipline and motivation become key players. Self-discipline is the sweat work that gets the job done whether it’s enjoyable or a challenge, and motivation is what starts and keeps the ball rolling – it’s the make or break of self-discipline.
Let’s Reflect…
So, take some time and reflect or journal on these questions to discover a little about what motivates you! (Then, be sure to discuss your results with your coach and come up with a plan to utilize your answers to rev up your motivation).
